If you’re like me, you tend to put off certain chores until there’s just no way around it anymore. Letting the trash pile up until there’s no way you can balance that take out container. Pushing the dirty dishes aside to wash your hands until you can’t even see the faucet. Or turning a blind eye to the mountain of dirty towels until you hop out of the shower and realize you have to shake off like a dog getting out of the pool.
One such chore for me is cleaning the microwave. I hate it.
Something about washing off old food particles that have splattered against the microwave really grosses me out. I wonder if this is why the microwave at work is so nasty. Perhaps everyone feels like this…?
So when I came across this on Pinterest:
According to the pin, all you have to do is mix 1-2 cups water with 1-2 tablespoons of vinegar, pop into the microwave for 5 minutes and BAM! Those disgusting food flakes will wipe clean.
So I tried it! Here’s the before shot:
And here’s the after:
It did work, but not as easily as I thought it would. Some of the bits came off fairly easy, but I did a lot of scrubbing. My arm was tired by the time it looked clean. To me, this kind of defeated the purpose. BUT, it was nice to not have to use chemicals to clean the microwave!
