This week’s Try It is actually a two-for!
A few weeks ago, my sister-in-law gave me some maternity clothes. And me being me, I got greasy food on one of the tops I really liked. After I washed it, the stain was still there. Bah! I thought all was lost. Then I came across this on Pinterest:
I needed to do laundry anyway, so I got the shirt and dropped some Dawn on the stains. (I was going to take a picture of the stains, but they weren’t showing up well in the pictures. But trust me, they’re there!)
I let it set for about 10 minutes and then tossed it in the washer with the rest of my laundry. Forty minutes later, it came out stain free! Woot woot! I am so excited! Now I can be as messy as I want!
The next Try It was something I saw a while back and was a little reluctant to try. Simply because I was super nauseous when I pinned it and I didn’t want eggs of any fashion. Now that the first trimester is done, I figured I should try it out! Here’s the pin:
Evidently, all you have to do is shake up an egg before you hard boil it and it comes out looking like this! At least, I think that’s what the source blog said…I don’t understand Swedish.
Anywhoo, I decided to give it a go. I started with my egg:
And then I shook it up until it looked like this:
Then, I boiled it for about 10 minutes or so. After I let it cool, I tore off the shell. Literally. I was really excited to see if the egg was in fact yellow!
So yeah…The Swedes lie. Shaking your egg for a long time will not make it all golden yellow. This Try It? Fail.
