Try It Tuesday

Alas, we’re only on the second day of the week and Friday seems like a pipe dream. But cheer up! Since it’s Tuesday, I’ve got an amazing–and edible–Pinterest find to share with you!

Now that fall is in full swing, pumpkin has taken over everything! Including one of my favorite treats

Oh yes! Today’s Try it Tuesday is Pumpkin Spice Rice Krispie Treats!

Here’s what you need:

4 cups marshmallows

½ tsp pumpkin pie spice

½ tsp cinnamon

3 tbsp butter

6 cups Rice Krispies

¼ cup pumpkin


Drop butter into a large microwave safe bowl and melt (typically about 35 seconds). Then, add marshmallows.


The recipe from the bag of marshmallows  calls for 5 1/2 cups of marshmallows, but since you’ll be adding pumpkin, you want to reduce the overall goo so the treats aren’t too moist. When the marshmallows are melted, add pumpkin and spices and stir. 


Pour in Rice Krispies and stir.


Then, place the treat mix into a greased, 9×13 baking pan. Flatten them out using a spatula or wax paper.


Allow to cool, and then devour!

I really liked these! But, I LOVE Rice Krispies anyway. If I make them again, though, I think I’ll add some more pumpkin pie spice and cinnamon. They didn’t really have the POP of pumpkin flavor I was hoping for. They were still yummy though!
