Happy Seis de Mayo!
What? Is that not a thing?
My Try it Tuesday is probably a day late, but I don’t care because its awesome and even though it has a Cinco De Mayo-esque theme, its still delicious and can be used any day of the year!
Yesterday, we had a surprise CdM-themed bridal shower for one of my coworkers and I made this yummy treat:
Here’s all you need:
2 cans Pillsbury Crescent Rolls
2 (8 oz) packages cream cheese
1 cup sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 cup butter (melted)
cinnamon and sugar
First, preheat oven to 350*. Unroll one can of the crescent rolls into an un-greased pan:
Then, in a mixing bowl, combine the sugar, vanilla, and softened cream cheese. Fair warning: you WILL want to lick the spatula when you’re done.
Spread the mixture on top of the crescent rolls and then unroll the other package of rolls on top. Melt the butter and add cinnamon and a little sugar.
Spread the butter mixture on top of the crescent rolls and bake for 20-30 minutes.
And then presto! your muy bueno dish is done!
I REALLY liked this! I think I would’ve like it more had it been warm and straight from the oven when we ate it (I had to make it the night before). I also think next time I’ll use a mixer for the cream cheese mixing. There were some lumps in the middle and I don’t think the sugar and vanilla was distributed as evenly. But I will absolutely make this again! It was easy, inexpensive, AND tasty!
