Try It Tuesday

Its Tuesday! And you know what that means! I’ve got another tasty treat to tempt your taste buds!

This Try It is actually pretty easy and looks yummy!

What you’ll need:


1/4 cup unsalted butter

1/4 cup honey

1/4 cup light brown sugar, packed

1 tbsp vanilla extract

3 cups Honey Nut Cheerios

1 cup raisins, nuts, craisins, or whatever floats your goat!

1/2 cup mini M&M’s (I used mini Reese’s Pieces)

Pinch of salt (which I just now realized I forgot to add in, lol)


First, line a pan with aluminum foil, spray it with Pam and set it aside. Then, in a large microwave-safe bowl, toss in the butter, honey, and brown sugar and then microwave it on high for 1 minute.



When its done, stir it and then microwave for another minute. And then do it again. When the mixture has been microwaved three times, it will be pretty bubbly and foamy.





Stir in the vanilla. Be careful, though because the mixture (which is basically caramel) bubbles and splashes.



Add in the cereal and then your other fixin’s.



Pour and press the mixture into the prepared pan, packing down firmly with a spatula.


(I put the Craisins on only half of the bars because I’m the only one who likes them)


Cover the pan with foil and refrigerate for about 2-3 hours. Then take out and slice!

They were pretty yummy! But, they were also SUPER sweet. I think they might be better with just plain ole Cheerios. These would be great for camping; just throw some almonds or peanuts in there with raisins and M&M’s, and you’ve got trail mix to go!
