Try It Tuesday

I’m always looking for life hacks that will make my life easier. As a mom, most of the time I’m searching for ways to make cleaning easier (see: ways to get the kids involved in cleaning). I read this article one day while I was searching Pinterest and I my interest was instantly piqued!

For those of you who don’t want to click the link, I’ll give the “TL;dr” version: a woman once had a terrible landlord who actually gave her some great advice on how to clean the bathtub: Dawn dish soap and a broom.

Apparently, the bristles from the broom are great at scraping away any gunk off the tub while the Dawn gets rid of all the nasty grime and soapscum, all while saving your back from any discomfort. I decided to try it for myself!

I went to Dollar Tree and bought a new broom specifically for this and just grabbed the Dawn from the kitchen.

All I did was squeeze the Dawn into the tub:

Scrub, and then rinse:

It certainly looked clean, but my mom always told me that the way to tell if a bathtub is clean is to rub your hand alongside the bathtub walls. If its smooth, then all the gunk is gone and your tub is clean! If its bumpy and rough, you need to keep scrubbing. I sat down on the edge of the tub and rubbed my hands along the tub walls.

I was VERY impressed! This is a great way for someone with chronic pain/back issues/elderly to be able to clean without putting unneeded stress on their back or joints! Even Huff the Tot could do this because the cleaner isn’t made with harsh chemicals! My life is forever changed, y’all.
