Happy Fri-yay, geeklings! I’ve rounded up some awesomely nerdy news, nifties, and neat-os to start your weekend off with a bang!

As you can tell from your Facebook newsfeed, the first day of school has been kicking off all across the country the past few weeks. One teacher has decided to make this school year his most magical yet! Kyle Hubler, teacher at Evergreen Eagles Middle School in Oregon, set up an AMAZING Harry Potter-themed classroom! Just check out these pics!

Anyone else still reeling from the season finale of Game of Thrones? Lamenting the fact that we have nearly two years to wait to see what is going to happen?! Need someone to cuddle with that understands? Look no further than ThinkGeek!

This 16-inch tall Drogon plush is fully poseable and will listen to you cry for the next 500+ days as you divulge your theories about who will finally sit on the Iron Throne and whether or not Cersei will FINALLY get what’s coming to her.

Y’all know I have a deep love for doughnuts. Especially Krispy Kreme doughnuts. But, sadly, the nearest KK is an almost 40 minute drive from my house. So I have to reeeeaaallllyyyy want those fried dough rings to make the trip (and spend the gas-ha!). But, thanks to Jelly Belly, I can have Krispy Kreme any time I want!

If you were like me in elementary school, you yearned for the days that the book fair came to town. Because then, you could buy up all the new Goosebumps books (especially those awesome “choose your own adventure” ones) so your weekends would be set. Ever wish you could be in that world? We’re one step closer with this:

jvgh_goosebumps_board_game

The game, for 2-6 players, lets YOU be the monsters from R.L. Stine’s creepy books competing to make it to the end of Madison Street and evading the author himself!

Miss the good ole days before mortgages and water bills? The days when you dreamed about sipping Shasta on the beach with JTT? Bring those daydreams home with this whimsical pillow from Etsy shop Dirtsastudio:

Anyone else excited for the reboot of Rocko’s Modern Life? I’m just desperate for a day-long binge of my fave Nickelodeon shows from the 90’s! In the meantime, I can grab these cute Vinyl Pops from Think Geek!

Happy Friday, peeps! We’re one week closer to Thanksgiving, or as I like to call it, “Gorge Till Puke” Day! And to celebrate, I’ve rounded up some fantastically awesome finds for my fangirls and fanboys!

Y’all, when Nickelodeon announced that they were going to dedicate a channel solely to 90’s shows, I was ecstatic. Then, I saw this video from Stan Lee’s Comikaze Expo!

*Cue the 90’s fangirl screams*

Huff the Hubs and I have been working on decorating our new home. Our style can be best described as: “Twelve-Year-Old-Left-Alone-In-A-Home-Decor-Store-With-Our-Parent’s-Credit-Card”. Case in point, I really, really, want this:

Fan GIrl Friday Potty Piano

This “Potty Piano” from Perpetual Kid is the best addition to our house! Seriously! Imagine having friends over and then, instead of hearing terrifyingly gross sounds coming from the loo, you hear a nice concerto! Or, you know, Three Blind Mice. Because that’s basically all I know, ha!

With Christmas approaching ever so steadily, I think I need to pick up a pack of these to drop under my sister’s Christmas tree! Its Author Paper Dolls!

Fan Girl Friday Author Paper Doll

Each pack comes with 16 different authors including Jane Austen, George Orwell, and Franz Kafka! This is a must for bibliophiles everywhere!

We all know that the holidays are awesome. Yes, we get to see family and friends, but most importantly, we get yummy treats that we don’t get throughout the rest of the year! Like my mom’s pumpkin bread! Seriously, y’all…This pumpkin bread is da bomb! The only thing I think that would bring it over the top would be this cake pan:

Fan Girl Friday Dragon Cake Pan

Seriously, how much more kick-a would Thanksgiving be if my mom rolled into my Grammy’s house with pumpkin bread baked in the shape of a dragon guarding its eggs?! If only we could make it breathe fire…

Another week in the books, folks! And what better way to welcome the weekend than with a plethora of nerdy news and novelties just for you!

Avengers: The Age of Ultron hits theaters in a little less than two weeks! I think I need to prepare for the premiere by scoring one of these A-DORK-ABLE dresses from Hot Topic!
marvel dress

I REALLY want the Loki one! Seriously, how cute are these?! Sadly, they’re not available in stores yet, but they will be soon! You can actually head over to Hot Topic’s website and pre-order yours now!

You guys know I love The Muppets, so when I heard that there was a newly-discovered animal that looked just like Kermit, I did the arm flail:

Kermit

Isn’t he a cutie?! Technically, this little guy’s name is Hyalinobatrachium dianae but I’ll call him Kermit for now.

Being a child of the late 80’s/early 90’s, I was around for a lot of the great, new Disney classics as well as some smooth R&B. So when I saw this mash-up, I squealed with delight:

With the new Star Wars trailer hitting the web, there’s tons of new SW swag hitting stores, too! Like these awesome Han and Leia rings:

i love you i know rings

I think I know what Huff the Hubs can get me for Mother’s Day!

Happy fangirling!

Try It Tuesday

Happy Tuesday, folks!

While looking around on Pinterest (mostly on Doctor Who-themed boards) I found an awesome pin! Apparently, you go to this website and you’re in the Tardis’ control room! You can click different areas and it will “teleport” you to a random place.

tardis teleporter

So I went to the website and was a little disappointed. I mean, the views were amazing, don’t get me wrong.

teleporter hawaii

Teleporter Japan

But, when I first went to the site, there was no Tardis control room (super sad about that!). And, honestly, its like a glorified Google Maps. So, double sad. But, like I said, it was nice to get to see some of the pretty views!

Recently, Huff the Hubs has really been into playing video games on my old NES. Last Friday he spent about two hours trying to beat Super Mario Brothers. While on Pinterest, I saw this and did a nerd girl squeal:

snesfun

THIS website did NOT disappoint! There were tons and tons of video games! I chose a game that I never played as a kid but always wanted to:

I was actually pretty cool! And really got me all nostalgic. I mean, check out those awesome 90’s graphics:

I think I’ve found my new procrastination website. Look out, Pinterest, another site’s gunning for your crown!

Remember That One Show…?

The other day, Huff the Hubs and I were talking about shows we watched as kids. We tried thinking of the titles, but mostly we kept saying, “Remember that one show…?” because we couldn’t remember any of the titles.

Well thanks to boredom and the Internet, I’ve found some of my favorite old television shows (and happily, some are on DVD! Woot woot!). So now I’m going to take you down Nostalgia Lane!

SeaQuest DSV

The captain even has a Picard look to him, don't ya think?

The captain even has a Picard look to him, don’t ya think?

I don’t really remember too much about this show other than the fact the Jonathan Brandis was the star and he was to Seaquest what Will Wheaton was to Star Trek TNG.  I know it had something to do with being in a submarine…They were basically the Star Fleet of the sea.

Ocean Girl

Sorry, honey. You're not a real Disney mermaid unless you have a pet talking fish.

Sorry, honey. You’re not a real Disney mermaid unless you have a pet talking fish.

This was another Disney gem. I don’t remember actually watching the show, I just remember the commercials during The Muppet Show that my sisters and I used to make fun of. It was two brothers (one was good-looking, the other not so much; which always made me refer to them as the Prince William and Harry of Disney) standing on the beach and they see a girl in the ocean. And what do they say? “There was a girl, in the ocean.” Yes. That was the whole commercial. And the name of the show? Ocean Girl. This reminds me of Jim Gaffigan’s “You buy Mennen” stand up.

Flash Forward

"So you're saying you're really a mechanic on a space ship called Serenity? What are the odds?"

“So you’re saying you’re really a mechanic on a space ship called Serenity? What are the odds?”

This show was watched religiously in our house! It came on either right before or right after Bug Juice (AKA, America’s first reality show) so I was not to be bothered for that hour. This show tells the story of Tucker and Becca, two best friends since birth/next door neighbors that repeatedly tell people they’re “just friends” even though they secretly love each other. The episode where they kiss (the last episode!) is my favorite. Even as a twelve-year old I was like, “Its about freaking time!” (Also, a young Ryan Gosling is in a few episodes, vying for the attention of Becca. Sadly, he keeps his shirt on the whole time.)

Ready or Not

Besties!

Besties!

This was another one of my favorite Canadian imports. Ready or Not was about two best friends that could not have been more different. Amanda was a whiny, spoiled, princess whereas Busy was a butch, sunflower seed spittin’, tomboy. The possibilities were endless! Well, not so much, seeing as how it only ran for four years. but I still watched!

Teen Angel

Is that Devon Sawa?! And Marcia Brady?!

Is that Devon Sawa?! And Marcia Brady?!

Please tell me I’m not the only one that remembers this TGIF show. It only ran for a season, so you may not unless you were a big TGIF nerd like me. The premise of Teen Angel was: boy dares friend to eat 6-month old hamburger that had fallen under his bed. Friend takes the dare and dies. Dead friend is assigned by God’s cousin to be live friend’s guardian angel and hilarity ensues…I’m starting to see why this show only lasted a season.

What about you? What obscure television shows do you remember/miss?
