Last week, I saw a video making the rounds on Facebook that showed a yummy apple cobbler-like recipe. It only had three ingredients and cooked in the slow cooker (which is awesome for a lazy cooker such as myself). So I decided to try it out!

Here’s what you need:

~2, 20-ounce cans of apple pie filling

~1 box spice cake mix

~8 oz butter (two sticks)

 

First, drop the pie filling in the slow cooker and stir.

Then, pour the cake mix on top and plop the butter on top of that.

Cook on high for 2-2 1/2 hours. Then, top with ice cream and enjoy!

This was really good! My ONLY complaint was that it was reeeeeaaaally buttery. Can you see the butter in the picture above? I think next time I’ll use a tad less butter. Like maybe 1 1/2 sticks instead of 2.

For years I have wanted to be the person that brought something to a potluck that everyone loved. I have NEVER been that person. I was the one that showed up with paper products. Or empty-handed and hoped that no one would notice I was stuffing my gob without having brought anything.

But my luck FINALLY changed this weekend, all thanks to this pin!

This was a super-simple dessert that was such a crowd-pleaser! (I seriously left with a near-empty dish! And the only reason there was some left is because I wanted to bring a little home!)

Here’s what you need:IMG_7324

 

~6 apples (I used Braeburn)

~1 package sugar cookies (already cut into cookies)

~1/2 cup white sugar

~1/2 cup brown sugar

~3 tbsp cinnamon

~1 tbsp butter

 

First, preheat your oven to 350*. Then, wash, peel, and slice your apples. This is the most time-consuming part.  When you’ve finished, drop them in a 9×13 baking dish.

Next, chop up your butter slice into tiny pieces and place in the baking dish with the apples. Pour the brown sugar over the top of the apples and set it to the side.

Pour the white sugar and cinnamon into a separate bowl and mix well. Grab your cookie dough and separate the cookies. Roll them into balls. Roll the dough balls in the cinnamon and sugar mix, coating them heavily. Then, drop the dough balls on top of the apples.

Pop the dish into the oven and bake for about 15-18 minutes, as long as it takes the cookies to cook. Then, take your creation out of the oven and allow it cool.

Serve it with ice cream or whipped cream!

At first, I wasn’t so sure about how this would turn out. The cookies didn’t seem as crispy as the ones in the original pin, so I assumed it was going to be funky. However, it was FABULOUS! I had three helpings of this stuff! I will be making this again!
