Y’all, this smelled AWESOME. It was like I was cooking hot cocoa! The next morning, I awoke to this:

img_0308

Yeah, it did not look appetizing. I scraped off the top and the under part actually looked okay! I plopped some peanut butter on top and decided to try it.

img_0309

It was…alright. It was pretty bland, TBH. I ate a serving of it and it was pretty filling, though not very tasty.

I have made my love of peanut butter and chocolate no secret over the years. I’m seriously a little obsessed. So you can imagine my glee when I saw this tweet:

I have been waiting months, MONTHS for the new Reese’s cups to hit the stores. I mean, a Reese’s Cup filled with Reese’s Pieces?! I. COULD. NOT. WAIT. When I saw they were finally  out, this was my reaction:

My sister picked up a few at a local 7-11 and texted me the joyous news. I immediately went to her house and tried them out!

OMG, you guys. They looked like the Reese’s Cups we all know and love but they were better. Much, much better! With usual Reese’s Cups, the edges are hard and the peanut butter is a tad on the dry side. Not these, my friend. They were softer and the peanut butter was SUPER creamy! Suffice to say that if they take these off the market, I will protest! They. Are. DELISH!

Have you tried these? What did you think?

The past few months, I’ve been searching high and low for the products that are today’s Try It but I couldn’t find them ANYWHERE! Cut to me, my sister, and the kiddos at Dollar Tree yesterday (buying stuff for next week’s Try It) and finding these:

Eeeee! I was so excited! I had seen the Honey Nut at CVS, but that was it. And if I was going to try these, I wanted to try all three. First up, the Chili Nut!

chili

The Chili Nut M&M’s were all colored in different variations of red. I won’t lie; I sniffed them to see if I could smell the chili-ha! You can’t. I popped three in my mouth and was surprised–it tasted like regular peanut M&M’s. Disappointed, I reached for the next bag. That’s when, woooo!, I felt the chili! It wasn’t crazy-spicy, but they definitely have a kick to them!

Next was Honey Nut.

These were, you guessed it, all variations of yellow. These were delish! I really liked them! They tasted like chocolate covered, honey roasted peanuts! Very tasty!

Finally, I tried the Coffee Nut. I’m a big coffee drinker and was really stoked about these!

coffee

These–surprise, surprise–brown M&M’s actually had an espresso smell to them. They. Were. Heavenly. I like coffee-flavored candy/chocolate so this was right up my alley!

If I had to choose a winner, though, I’d probably choose Honey Nut. I don’t buy candy that often (because, if I do, I’ll sit and eat the entire bag all at once and then be full of regret and chocolate) but I’d like this flavor to be available all the time for those moments that I want to sneak candy into the movies. Er, I mean…I don’t do that. *wink, wink*. After I tried them, I went to the M&M website and cast my vote for my favorite flavor!

Try It Tuesday Cooking Badge 2

Not only did I get an awesome gift for Mother’s Day (two gorgeous chaise loungers for the backyard so I can layout and get some sun on these vampire-white legs) but Huff the Hubs made me a DELICIOUS breakfast!

Earlier last week, I saw a segment from our local news station about a Mother’s Day breakfast of brownie waffles, so I asked HtH if he’d make it for me. He. Did. GOOD.

Here’s what you need:

IMG_7813

~Brownie mix

~bacon

~eggs

~whipped cream

~strawberries, sliced

~vegetable oil (HtH used EVOO)

~chocolate syrup

Mix the brownie mix according to the instructions, adding an extra egg. Pour the mix into the waffle iron. While the waffle is cooking, prepare your bacon. Huff the Hubs put his in the oven so it would all cook at the same time and not spatter everywhere.

When everything is finished cooking, its time to assemble your masterpiece. (Huff the Hubs stacked mine like in the video, but he liked the picture of his waffle better, so I’ll describe that one). Cut your waffle into fourths (our waffle maker basically does this for us). Place your waffle pieces on your plate and cut four strips of bacon in half, making eight pieces. Dollop whipped cream on top of the waffle pieces and place two small pieces of bacon on each quarter of your waffle. Then, add strawberry slices and drizzle with chocolate syrup. When you’re done, devour your tasty masterpiece!

Y’all, this was AH-MAY-ZING! I think this is going to be my go-to Mother’s Day/birthday/special occasion breakfast from now on!

Friday’s are my favorite day. Not only because it means the end of the work week, but because I get to share geeky goodies with you!

Y’all, I was going to save this for last, but I just can’t! Mostly because I’ve already watched it like, ten times and I can’t keep it to myself! Its the newest, full-length trailer for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2!

Goosebumps, guys. Goosebumps all around.

Speaking of movies, one of the most-anticipated films of the year hits theaters today! I have been waiting for what seems like forever for another Jurassic Park movie and now its here! Got your tickets yet? If so, you’ll need a yummy snack to chow down on while you watch pterodactyls fly above park-goers!

chocolate dinos

Aren’t these awesome? Inside each chocolate egg are five pint-size chocolate dinos, ready for you to gnaw on!

When I was a kid, my sisters and I would wrap diving rings around our ankles and pretend to be mermaids. Because, Disney. And now, Hot Topic is making my childhood dreams come true!

little mermaid swimsuit

Seriously, how awesome would it be to waltz up at the water park donning this sassy swimwear?! Now if only I could sing like Ariel…

I haven’t been the best Whovian this season. Honestly, I’m just not feelin’ Peter Capaldi; I’m still stuck on Ten. Sigh. And now, thanks to Entertainment Earth, I can have my very own {tenth} Doctor to nod at all the clever things I say!

david tennant bobblehead

They won’t be on sale until August 2015, but you can pre-order yours today! They even have an Eleventh Doctor, Clara Oswald, and Weeping Angel!

Happy fangirling!

Happy first day of Autumn, folks!

fall leaves gif

Today was a BEAUTIFUL day in OKC! Huff the Babe and I even went outside and played! And we didn’t melt! Ahhhh, the sweet cool days of fall. I’m so happy they’re back!

Sadly, today’s Try It isn’t a pumpkin or caramel flavored treat (although I have pinned many ideas on Pinterest, so don’t worry; they’re coming!). However, today’s Try It IS healthy and yummy!

Here’s what you need:

photo 1

~a banana

~peanut butter (or almond butter; basically whatever nut butter your heart desires)

~1/4 cup chocolate chips (I used chunks because its all we had)

~wax paper

~small cookie sheet

That’s it!

First, line a small cookie sheet with wax paper. Then, slice up your banana as such:

photo 2

Spread some peanut butter on a slice and make a “banana sandwich” with another slice:

photo 3

Keep going until all of the slices have been “sandwich-ified”. Then, place them on the wax paper-lined cookie sheet and stick in the freezer for about an hour. After the hour is up, melt your chocolate in the microwave:

photo 4

Grab the bananas from the freezer and dip them into the chocolate, covering half of them. Pop ’em back into the freezer for another hour and then voila! your healthy snack/dessert is ready to be devoured:

Honestly guys, if these things last until Huff the Hubs gets home, it’ll be a miracle. These little banana bites were so incredibly tasty AND easy! I think I might make these my “go-to” snack to take to parties!
