The other day, while looking up where I could find some of my favorite bath bombs, I found out the the makers of said bathtime treats were not only sisters but TEENAGE sisters! There story was too amazing not to share!
When Caroline and Isabel Bercaw were 10 and 11 years old, they decided to make bath bombs for a science experiment. After the girls saw the fun in creating (and using) their creations, they decided to open up a boot at a local art fair. Their start-up cost was around $350–which was graciously lent to them by their mother–and they were able to pay her back (and make over $350 in profit) their first day at the fair! The girls were selling out of their bath bombs so quickly, they couldn’t make them fast enough!
Because of their success, the girls’ parents were eventually able to quit their jobs and run DaBomb Fizzers full-time! Dad runs the financial aspect of the company, Mom manages marketing, and Caroline and Isabel are co-chief creative officers (they create and test the bath bombs–all of which come with a surprise inside) as well as act as the faces of the company!
The girls not only love what they do, but they love that they are in a position to give back. One of their bath bombs, the Earth Bomb, gives a portion of its profit to The Ocean Cleanup, an organization that helps keep the world’s oceans clean!
These girls have not only made bathtime more fun, but are an inspiration to young people everywhere that they have the potential to make their dreams happen! Way to go, girls!
