Star Wars FGF Banner

Happy Friday, padawans! Have you seen the The Last Jedi trailer that dropped this week?! NO?!  Don’t worry, I got chu.

*Cue the feels/goosebumps like crazy*

To celebrate the release of this new trailer (and the fact that Last Jedi tickets are already on sale–totes got mine!) every nerdy nifty on today’s FGF is Star Wars-related! Woot, woot!

I know its getting chilly out, but seriously, I think I need this workout tank from Etsy shop Everyday Unicorns:

Yasssss, queen! I mean, Yasssss, general!

I’m not trying to get all political up in here, but why do I feel like Kylo would totally be sporting this hilarious tee at a Storm Trooper hiring day rally?

image-tsswmtega-1-productimagenowatermark“We’re gonna rebuild the Death Star and we’re gonna make the rebels pay for it!”

Anyone else notice the ADORABLE little feathered/furry creature next to Chewie in the trailer? Apparently, that little thing is a Porg (or maybe Porg is its name, I’m not entirely sure…) and it is cute AF! I have a feeling that little guy is going to be to Star Wars 8 what the niffler was to Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them! Don’t believe me? Check out this “Awwww!”-inducing Porg Funko Bobble Head!

While you’re buying popcorn at the theater waiting for TLJ to start, show your fandom side with this awesome Tauntaun coin purse!

I’m not 100% sure, but I’m fairly certain this one does NOT have a foul odor (inside or out)!

Happy Friday, everyone! If you’re as sad as I am to not be at San Diego Comic Con, turn that frown upside down! Just because we aren’t there doesn’t mean we can’t have all the scoop! I’ve got trailers, clips, and news to make you a little happier you’re not dealing with the “wet-wipe-bathing” crowds at SDCC!

Y’all, I was NEVER into anime or Japanese movies before I met Huff the Hubs. Now? He’s made a believer out of me! One of my FAVORITE Japanese films, Death Note, is coming to Netflix and I am SUPER excited! Check out the exclusive con clip!

One of my favorite cartoons as a kid was Rocko’s Modern Life and I am feeling all kinds of nostalgic because its being rebooted! And the trailer is FINALLY here!

And, of course, we can’t forget everyone’s favorite zombie hunters! The cast of The Walking Dead throws all kinds of crazy in SDCC’s trailer for the AMC show!

Technically, this last trailer debuted about a week ago at D23, but I am so freaking excited I HAVE to share with you! This is the first “teaser” (if you want to call it that; it has clips from the first film, not the sequel) of The Incredibles 2 which is set to premiere next June! SQUEEEE!

Happy fangirling!

Her’s Day Thursday

Hers Day Thursday Girl

With Comic Con kicking off in San Diego yesterday, I thought it would be fun to talk about some of my favorite female characters from the various fandoms I love! And let me tell ya, not all women in geekdom are leather-clad eye candy.

Hermione Granger

Hermione Granger

This book-loving Muggle-born will forever be my favorite character from the Harry Potter universe. Hermione was always the one to tell Harry, Ron, and everyone else to rise above the foolishness that Draco and his cronies were always spouting. She used her brain (and brawn when necessary) and founded S.P.E.W. (The Society for the Promotion of Elvish Welfare). Hermione is a fierce female and I’m proud my kid is named after her!

Donna Noble

donna-noble-catherine-tate-2

Nobody–not even Donna herself–thought she was anything special. But, as it turns out, Donna was “the most important woman in the whole wide universe”. After just one trip with the Doctor, Donna was forever changed. She knew something was amiss with the Adipose company and took matters into her own hands, investigating and eventually teaming up with her favorite Gallifrean! Donna traveled the universe and kicked butt during all of her adventures and also fought for the rights of others!

Katniss Everdeen

Katniss

Aside from the whole “dangerously-close-to-TwilightI-level-love-traingle”, Katniss is a total BAMF. True, homegirl probably needed some therapy after all of the tragedies she’s endured in her young life, but its not like Panem had healthcare. Anyway, she worked hard to provide for her family after the death of her father, fought bravely in the Arena (TWICE), and basically rescued all of Panem from the hands of yet another dictator. The Mockingjay lives, y’all!

Kaylee Frye

Kaylee

Kaylee is not only a sweet, cheerful, down-home girl, but she can fix basically anything with an engine faster than you can say: “No power in the ‘verse can stop me.” Kaylee loves her shipmates on Serenity so genuinely and fiercely loyal to her captain and beloved ship.
