Yeeeaaahhhh, boyeeeeee, its Friday! I have found some geeky goodies sure to make you squee with joy!

Being stuck inside since its been so cold out has made me realize our house is in dire need of some redecorating. I think I might spring for this awesome Harry Potter Quidditch Shower Curtain to re-do our bathroom!

ktlp_hp_shower_curtain

Complete with pictures of the various equipment used for playing the noble game of Quidditch, this shower curtain also has the words “keeper” and “catch” emblazoned about it because, you’re a catch and a keeper. Don’t ever forget that.

Keeping in theme with the bathroom, this next find is something I think we should all buy for the staff bathrooms at work.

ktsh_unicorn_poop_toilet_bombs

These Unicorn Poop Toilet Bombs make any loo smell cotton-candy-fresh after someone has, ahem, taken the Browns to the Super Bowl. These cleaning bombs also come in different fragrances titled: Dinosaur Dung,  Number 2, and my favorite: Ladies Don’t Poop!

Ever since the release of The Last Jedi, my kids have become even more obsessed with BB8 and I have a new love–porgs! Seriously, they’re so cute! Maybe I need to invest in a few sets of these pillow cases from Hot Topic…?

Looking to make some tasty soups to warm up your winter? Try one of these soup bone herb infusers from Perpetual Kid!

According to PK, here’s how it works: Simply place your desired herbs inside of this funny bone and place it in your pot with boiling water, and it will be ready in no thyme! It will keep your herbs together while adding flavors to your stews & soups.

I feel like there was a collective gasp when Netflix revealed they may not be keeping Friends on their streaming service in 2019. Thankfully, they paid an enormous amount of money to keep the 90’s sitcom for another year! To celebrate, grab a pair of these Central Perk earrings from Hot Topic!

The earrings come with two different pairs so you can share a pair with your bestie! Just don’t let Rachel borrow them–she always loses things.

Happy Friday, everyone! If you’re as sad as I am to not be at San Diego Comic Con, turn that frown upside down! Just because we aren’t there doesn’t mean we can’t have all the scoop! I’ve got trailers, clips, and news to make you a little happier you’re not dealing with the “wet-wipe-bathing” crowds at SDCC!

Y’all, I was NEVER into anime or Japanese movies before I met Huff the Hubs. Now? He’s made a believer out of me! One of my FAVORITE Japanese films, Death Note, is coming to Netflix and I am SUPER excited! Check out the exclusive con clip!

One of my favorite cartoons as a kid was Rocko’s Modern Life and I am feeling all kinds of nostalgic because its being rebooted! And the trailer is FINALLY here!

And, of course, we can’t forget everyone’s favorite zombie hunters! The cast of The Walking Dead throws all kinds of crazy in SDCC’s trailer for the AMC show!

Technically, this last trailer debuted about a week ago at D23, but I am so freaking excited I HAVE to share with you! This is the first “teaser” (if you want to call it that; it has clips from the first film, not the sequel) of The Incredibles 2 which is set to premiere next June! SQUEEEE!

Happy fangirling!

Happy Friday, peeps! We are officially in Christmas countdown mode now that we are in December! Are you excited?! Need help getting into the Christmas spirit? Then I’ve got some nerdy nifties sure to put some jungle in your bells!

Last night, the fam and I watched Charlie Brown Christmas on TV–one of my favorite holiday specials! YouTuber Only Leigh decided to put her own geeky spin on the Christmas classic by making the mash-up, “Merry Christmas, Will Byers!” (a blend of Peanuts and Stranger Things!) Check it out:

I don’t know about you, but my Black Friday was spent binge-watching Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life. And while I wanted to slap Rory (and Lorelai) a few times, I still really enjoyed the visit back to Stars Hollow! So much so that I think I need to grab some GG swag, like this adorable tee from I ❤ Apparel!

sportgrey_49bead61-b77c-482f-b0e6-6128518df003_1024x1024

This tee comes in a variety of colors (and you can also get this print on hoodies and mugs)! Plus they have other tees from Stars Hollow hot spots like Al’s Pancake World and, of course, Luke’s Diner!

For some folks, the holidays aren’t all stockings and rainbows. For some that aren’t able to make it home, the holidays can be a little sad. But have no fear! HomesickCandles.com can make you feel like you’re back with your family in your home state!

oklahomaboxwithcandle_grande

After a group of friends relocated out of state, they wanted to still feel close to their roots and Homesick Candles was born! Each candle is comprised of scents native to or famous in that state. The description for my home state (Oklahoma) reads: “These scents will take you back to the good ol’ days at home in the Sooner State with hints of pecan, barbecue, cinnamon, and vanilla.” Mmm…smells like home!

Anyone else seeing their computer covered in boring, yellow Post-Its? It can make your desk seem very bleak indeed. Why not spruce up the joint with these:

Rainbow scratch art notes will surely make those reminders like, “Take out the trash!” and “Pick up dry cleaning!” feel like less of a nuisance and more exciting when written on these! You can get 125 notes for $8.99 from Perpetual Kid!

Her’s Day Thursday

Y’all know I’m all about empowering young women and girls to believe that they can be anything and do anything. I want to raise my daughter to shoot for the stars (same goes for her little brother) and to not let anyone say she (or he, in Indy’s case) can’t do anything (except skydiving; Momma won’t allow that. Sorry, kids.).

Because of this–and my love of documentaries–I have scoured Netflix and found some awesome documentaries and docu-series that highlight amazing women (as well as causes to help young women and girls) that are absolutely amazing!

Here’s my Top Four List of “You Go, Girl!” films on Netflix:

The Ascent of Woman

The Ascent of Woman

This four-part, BBC docu-series by Dr. Amanda Foreman explores women’s history in ancient civilizations, revolutionaries, and achievements of women throughout history.

The Women’s List

THe WOmen's List

This film focuses on fifteen different women from different careers and their influences on women’s issues.

Warrior Women

warrior-women-2003

Warrior Women is an inside-look at some kick-a ladies from history that have become legends in their own right. From Joan of Arc to Mulan, host Lucy Lawless (AKA, Xena!) tells the stories of these BAMFs.

Girl Rising

GirlRising

Y’all, this one is probably my favorite. This film focuses on nine different girls from various parts of the world and documents their triumphs and struggles. Its incredibly eye-opening!

What about you? What are some of your favorite “girl power” shows? Any of these make your list? Share in the comments below!

Happy Friday, fangirls and fanboys! I’ve found the latest geeky goodies and compiled them all onto a list just for you!

Y’all, today is the today we’ve all been waiting for! Well, I’ve been waiting for anyway. Marvel’s Jessica Jones drops on Netflix!

Fan Girl Friday Jessica Jones

I’ve already watched the first episode and I like it! Jessica is a tough-talking, booze swilling, semi-hard boiled PI with a dark past. She’s not your typical Marvel heroine, but I like that she’s a bit gritty. I didn’t think I’d be able to accept Krysten Ritter as a tough chick, given that most of the roles I’ve seen her in she plays the earthy best friend or the vapid neighbor. But, I think she’ll do great with this! Plus, it doesn’t hurt that my favorite Doctor is in it as well! Though, he’s not as sweet as his Gallifreyan alter ego.

Looking for a fun gift for your Secret Santa? Check out these clever coins from Perpetual Kid!

Fan GIrl Friday Seed Money

They’re called “Seed Money”. What you do is you plant the paper coins and they grow into pretty flowers! Pennies bloom as delicate wildflowers, nickels become herbs, dimes turn into crunchy root crops, and quarters grow to become crispy fresh salad greens!

This week, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 hit theaters. And, from what I have heard from critics and friends, this is the BEST Hunger Games film yet! I am so excited to see it! I’m also excited about all of the merch that’s hitting the stores. Like this adorable Katniss from Vinyl Pop!

Fan GIrl Friday Katniss

You can get your very own Katniss at Hot Topic stores!

In just a little over a month, we will all be going to a galaxy far, far away! Its time to stock up on all of the Star Wars swag while you can! Like this darling droid lamp from Think Geek!

Fan Girl Friday BB8

This cute little lamp has three settings: on, off, and dim and will add Jedi charm to any room!

Iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit’s Friday! WOO! I am so glad that the weekend is FINALLY here! Oh wait, I’m a mom. I don’t get weekends. C’est la vie! But at least I found some kick-a nerdy nifties to make my geek heart glad!

This week, the Avengers: Age of Ultron gag reel was released online. I love watching these! It makes my heart happy to see my favorite super heroes screwing up their lines and being silly!

And speaking of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, two of our favorite Avengers made an appearance at Salt Lake City’s Comic Con this past week and were part of a very sweet surprise:

Fan Girl Friday Captain America Proposal

The girl in the photo, Kelsey Jenkins, was just as surprised as Chris Evans and Hailey Atwell at her boyfriend’s proposal! Actually, I think Hailey’s reaction shows that she was the most surprised, lol! Click here for more of the cute cosplayer’s story!

I’m on a Marvel roll right now, y’all! Might as well keep it going, huh? We got an awesome sneak peek this week for Netflix’s original series, Marvel’s Jessica Jones hitting the subscription service in late November! Check it out:

This girl looks like a total BAMF and I cannot wait to watch her kick butt and take names! Well, that and the fact that David Tennant will also be starring *swoon*.

Need a low-key, yet stylish costume for Halloween? Then look no further than this adorable Black Widow dress from ThinkGeek!

Mommy Monday

I try not to let Huff the Babe watch too much TV. But, there are days that her energy levels are overflowing like my muffin top while I’m guzzling Diet Dr. Pepper and just trying to make it through the day. During those times I switch on Netflix, PBS, or whatever I can to get my little ball of perpetual energy to sit still for a few minutes.

Because of this, I’ve seen quite a bit of children’s television. Some good, some just plain annoying. So here is my definitive ranking of kid’s shows (that I’ve seen):

#7 Caillou

caillou-funny

We’ve only watched this show once. And it wasn’t even a whole episode. It was like 5 minutes. That is how annoying this kid is. Seriously. Don’t even waste your time.

#6 The Odd Squad

odd squad

My niece LOVES this show. She watches it all the time during her “tablet time”. But man, the kids on that show… they are…odd (terrible pun, I know). The show is kind of like Mr. Wizard on an acid trip.

#5 Tayo: The Little Bus

Tayo

My sister is actually the one that introduce Huff the Babe to this. Its pretty cute, to be honest. Tayo is a cartoon bus from South Korea. The cartoon is awesome because it has horrible lip-dub, but in an endearing way. There are times it gets a little weird though. One of Tayo’s “talents” is playing songs with his farts. For reals.

#4 Thomas the Tank Engine

thomas-the-tank-engine-chug-life-thug-life-gangsta-shades-1357742541n

I’ve been watching Thomas since my oldest nephew was HtB’s age. I loved watching him watch the show. I especially loved listening to him sing the title theme. He would pronounce Edward like “Penguin!”. My only problem(s) is Thomas can be kind of a punk sometimes. And Sir Toppham Hat? That guy’s like the worst boss ever.

#3 Sesame Street

sesame street

Y’all, Muppets are my jam. I LURVES them! Especially Sesame Street! These guys were such a huge part of my childhood. They’re still good, I’m just a little sad that I don’t know a lot of the folks (or puppets) on the show anymore. Even Maria is leaving!

#2 My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic

my-little-pony-friendship-is-magic-brony-trollestias-no-bilbo-baggins

My little Gryffindor has just started getting into MLP. This is probably the only show she likes that I will continue to watch after she’s left the room. I can name all of the main ponies. I even have favorites. I guess you could call me a Brony. Or whatever the female equivalent is.

#1 Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood

Daniel Tiger

Katerina throwing shade.

Of all the shows we’ve watched, this is by far Huff the Babe’s favorite. The catchy songs Daniel and his friends make up to help with daily tasks have actually come in handy with my little one. I honestly don’t have any complaints about this show. Except Katerina. That cat is super annoying.

What about you? What kid’s shows do you like? Which ones do you tell your kids are cancelled?
