Try It Tuesday

Hey y’all! Today I have two Try Its for you! One is so not healthy and the other is a great way to hit your macros and feel like you’re indulging when you’re really not!

Remember when Oreo had the mystery flavor and it was disgusting? Yeah, me too. Well they have officially redeemed themselves because they have a new special edition flavor out–kettle corn!

IMG_8833

I REALLY like this flavor! It truly tastes like kettle corn! I seriously couldn’t get enough of these and had to restrain myself from eating the whole package because they were THAT good! Kettle corn is just one of three flavors the cookie giant has released this spring! They also have piña colada and cherry cola!

While grocery shopping a week or so ago, I looked for something that would satisfy my sweet tooth but also had protein and not a lot of calories (I was trying to be good since I knew I was going to pig out for Mother’s Day weekend, lol). My search led me to this:

IMG_8899

One package of Think Thin’s protein cakes touts 12 grams of protein and only 170 calories! I was ready to try these! The other day after the kiddos had gone to bed, I decided to dig in.

IMG_8900

They were actually pretty good! They definitely had that “protein bar taste” but they did satisfy that craving for something sweet and helped me hit my protein goals for the day! They also come in chocolate cake and red velvet!

I don’t know what mornings are like at y’all’s houses, but at the Huffman Homestead things can go from 0-crazy in a matter of seconds. Sometimes it’s hard to eat breakfast, let alone a healthy oneWhile I was grocery shopping the other day, I saw these on the shelves and I HAD to try them!Shopify-MFN_55g_FlavorVariety6pk-FRONT_1024x1024
First I tried the double chocolate one. All I had to do was pour in 1/4 cup water, mix, and microwave!

I really liked the chocolate one! I ate it along with some egg whites and I was surprised at how full it kept me! I normally have to eat a snack in between breakfast and lunch but I didn’t have to this day because I was pretty satiated!
The next day I tried the s’mores one:

It wasn’t as good as the chocolate one. All of the yummy bits fell to the bottom so the muffin was pretty bland until you reached the sugar overload.
These muffins come in ten flavors, including: Lemon Poppyseed, Blueberry, Cinnamon Roll, Tart Cherry Chocolate, Chocolate Peanut Butter, Peanut Butter, Maple Pumpkin, and Cinnamon Apple!

Mommy Monday

Sometimes–okay, ALL THE TIME–being a mom can make you frazzled, harried, and pretty much scatterbrained. Thankfully, there are some awesome products out there to help you with any problem a mom could think of!

Tired of eating a soggy bowl of cereal because you poured your breakfast, only to have to stop everything to search for a blankie, a sock, or a pacifier? Those days are over, sistah thanks to the Obol!

418xSurDTGL

The Obol has separate compartments for the cereal and milk, as well as a built in grip so you can eat while also nagging the kids to get dressed and brush their teeth without fear of dropping your breakfast!

Tired of your kids taking FOR-EV-ER to clean up their toys? Just get one of these awesome bags from Swoop and clean up is over quickly!

The mini bags would also be great for you too, Mom! You could store makeup, snacks, pretty much anything! Just drop it on the opened bag and Swoop! its picked up! (See what I did there?)

If you have managed to keep your brood flu-free this season, I salute you. Giving them medicine is awful and taking their temperate is tough when they’re wrestling to get our of your grasp! Thankfully, there’s a new way to take your kids’ temp!

These stick-on, fever indicating bugs monitor your kiddos’ temperature for up to 48 hours. This means you can give them a bug, and you can tell with a quick look whether or not your wee one is feverish! For more info, click here!

Seriously, y’all, this flu season has been the worst. I’ve been using Purell wipes on everything anywhere we go. Huff the Babe is still using a pacifier, and I worry about all the germs that can hop onto it while we’re out and about. I think I need to invest in one of these!

When your baby-love drops this pacifier, the safety clip closes over it so the pacifier can be kept clean and won’t touch the floor! AH-MAY-ZING!

Parenting is tough. We all need a break now and then (speaking of, have you seen this hilarious video making the rounds on Facebook? Careful it features NSFW language!) and personally, I like to decompress with a nice, hot bubble bath and Netflix. I’m so glad I bought one of these!

This bath caddy is AWESOME! There’s a place for my wine glass, I can watch Netflix on the iPad, and I can put some chocolates on it so I can truly indulge! I think all Mommas need one of these!

Doing this whole low carb/Keto thing can be tough sometimes, especially when you’re looking for fast snacks. Thankfully, I searched around and actually found some snacks that are LC/K-friendly!

First up are these awesome little packets of protein-packed nut butter from Wildfriends!

IMG_7475

These would be great with celery sticks, but honestly, they’re tasty by themselves and are a great post-workout snack! The vanilla almond butter has 10 grams of protein in a serving and the chocolate peanut butter packs 12 grams of protein! Great for hitting your macros and they’re tasty, too!

Next up are these crunchy little snacks from Cello! They’re literally made from one thing: cheese!

IMG_7695

Each serving of these crunchy crisps has 10 grams of protein and only 1 carb! I’ve added them to salads, poured them on top of my chili, and eaten them with Laughing Cow cheese! Soooo good! Bonus–they’re gluten free!

Hey y’all! Are you looking for a yummy breakfast to start off your fall days right? I’ve got ya covered! The other day while grocery shopping, I spotted these yummy things at Walmart:

IMG_6622

Not only are these things super easy to make, they are DELISH! And–bonus!–they’ll make your house smell like pumpkin spice!

IMG_6623

The *only* bad thing about these tasty rolls is…each one has THREE. HUNDRED. CALORIES.

Yeah. I was only able to have one. Because, calorie counting. But they are sooooo good! Have you tried these? What were your thoughts? Share in the comments below!

Happy Tuesday, peeps! I’ve got THREE new products to tel you about so let’s dive right in!
Y’all know I’m all about cookie dough. As a kid, I ate that stuff out of the mixing bowl ALL the time. I’d literally sneak spoonfuls because that ish was sooooo good. I’m a teensy bit nervous about eating raw cookie dough now, just because I’m like, “If anyone would get salmonella from raw cookie dough, with my luck it’d be me.” Thankfully I found an awesome substitute!
IMG_6509
You guys this is LEGIT. It’s so good and not that many calories! They come in a variety of flavors and are AMAZING! (If you’d rather make your own, see my post about edible cookie dough!)
Have y’all seen the Mystery Oreos? My mom picked up a pack the other day and we all tasted them to try and decipher what they were. Personally, I thought they tasted like Fruity Pebbles.
IMG_6563
Have you tried them? What did YOU think they taste like?
It’s the time of year for pumpkin errrrrrything and I’ve got a semi-healthy treat that will fulfill your pumpkin needs!
IMG_6599
This was soooooo good! The add-ins were delish! I loved the crunch and the pumpkin flavor!

Finding dinners that are easy, healthy, and that my kids will eat (so I’m not making TWO meals) is kind of difficult. So when I saw Good Table’s new Freezer to Plate meals, I was super excited!

IMG_6065

After all, GT’s stuff has no preservatives, no artificial flavors, and no high fructose corn syrup. I’m totes down with that! Another part about this I really liked was the fact that I didn’t even have to thaw the chicken! I am notorious for forgetting to set out chicken to thaw. Then, dinner time rolls around and I’m like, “CRAP! The chicken is still frozen!” My excitement about this meal-in-a-box was growing.

It was pretty simple to prep. All I had to do was pour the noodles in, place the chicken on top (I actually remembered to thaw it–woo!), add a little water, and pour the sauce on top.

IMG_6066

Then, I just popped it in the oven for 30-35 minutes and dinner was done!

IMG_6067

It was…okay. I didn’t think it was very flavorful and the noodles were a tad on the chewy side. The kids ate some of it (mostly the noodles) but I wasn’t impressed.
