Now that the holidays are over, I’ve really been trying to up my protein intake and lower my carbs. But sometimes you just want something that seems like a treat, even if its packed with good stuff. I’ve seen these bars before and have always wanted to try them, so I decided to snag one!
Y’all, this was soooooo good! Its definitely no Oreo: The Most Stuf, but if you’re watching carbs its a great way to stay on track but also give your sweet tooth a little somethin’-somethin’!

As some of y’all know, I’m trying to up my protein intake so I can build more muscle. Not that I’m trying to be the female version of Arnold Schwarzenegger or anything, I just want my protein intake to be substantially more than my carbohydrate intake. (Because lower carb + more protein = more fat loss.)
Anywhoo, its been kind of a struggle to find protein-friendly snacks and treats that aren’t beef jerky or meatballs. The other day I was craving a chocolate shake and I just didn’t have the energy to make a Keto-friendly one, so I went to Walmart to see what I could find. Enter this:
I was a little nervous at first because I was afraid it would taste like a Slim Fast shake (of which I’m not a fan) but I was pleasantly surprised! This shake was sooooo good! The entire bottle was only 160 calories, 4 grams of fat, and 20 grams of protein! I haven’t tried any other flavors, but I seriously think I will because this one was so tasty!
I don’t know about you, but this momma loves her coffee! Honestly, I loved it even before I was a mom! The other day I was really craving a cold coffee drink but A) I didn’t want to pay $7 for something and B) I couldn’t afford it calorie-wise (I’m trying REALLY hard to hit my macros between now and our trip in November). So I decided I’d do a little experimenting!
I brewed some coffee and then poured it into an ice cube tray.
Then I waited for it to freeze (a couple of hours). When the coffee cubes were frozen, I threw about 5 into my blender, along with 1 1/2 cups unsweetened almond milk, one heaping tablespoon of my favorite protein powder, and two packets of Stevia.
Y’all… this was SO. GOOD. And even though it was right around 100 calories, it still felt like an indulgence without derailing my progress! Woot, woot!

favorite are the nacho cheese https://www.questnutrition.com/collections/quest-chips/products/nacho-cheese-tortilla-style-protein-chips
Trying to eat healthy and lose weight can be such a drag sometimes. You can only eat kale and chia seeds for so long, am I right? And when you’re trying to up your protein intake but want something that’s NOT jerky? Ugh, fuggetaboutit. Thankfully, I found something yummy that will also help me hit my protein goals!
Oh yes, those are PROTEIN chips! Quest Nutrition actually has FIVE different flavors! I’ve tried three so far: cheddar & sour cream, BBQ, and nacho cheese! Just take a look at these stats:
I paired mine with a Chick-Fil-A Chicken Club sandwich (sans bun) and it was the PERFECT meal!
Out of the three flavors I have tried, the nacho cheese are my favorite, but that’s because they tasted fairly close to Doritos!
