Fan Girl Friday!

Fan Girl Friday

Happy Friday, fangirls and fanboys! Now that I’m feeling better, I’ve found some awesomely nerdy novelties to make your weekend start off with a squee!

Cover Girl has announced that it will be releasing a Star Wars-inspired line exclusively for The Force Awakens!

Fan Girl Friday Cover Girl Announces Star Wars Makeup Line

Their limited edition mascaras, lipsticks, and nail polishes hit stores on September 4, 2015! Check out their Tumblr page for more info!

Y’all, Hot Topic has been getting my money so much lately, I’m pretty sure I pay the light bill there. And they’re about to get some more! Show the world how much you and your Whovian bestie mean to each other with this!

Fan Girl Friday Tardis best Friend Necklace

This necklace is a Hot Topic exclusive and is absolutely a-DORK-able! (Bestie, I know you’re reading this, but try to forget you saw this until Christmastime, mmkay?)

There’s been a slight chill air lately in Oklahoma (I mean, the temperature was BELOW 85! Its basically winter up in the place!) and I’ve been thinking about cold-weather clothing. Thankfully, Think Geek has my back with a geeky, cozy sweater:

Fan Girl Friday Star Wars Sweater

Seriously, I’m totally about rocking this bad boy when I go see The Force Awakens this winter! (Besides, it’s much warmer than a Princess Leia costume!)

Y’all, last week was brutal. What with me having a stomach virus ON TOP of morning sickness, Huff the Hubs really earned his stripes in taking care of me and Huff the Babe. He has truly been my hero! And, to show him how awesome he’s been, I think I may send him this:

Fan Girl Friday Hero For A Day

This way, he can totally feel like the hero he is! (And look totally ripped without having to work out, ha!)

Happy fangirling!

Fan Girl Friday

You guys, I know I say this every week, but I am SO glad that today is Friday. I have NEVER, EVER wanted a day to be behind me as bad as I wanted it to happen to yesterday. I know the only way to get over such a traumatic event is to return to normal as soon as possible, so that’s what I’m doing! So here we go with another excellently eccentric Fan Girl Friday!

Remember as a kid getting those gigantic hologram buttons that said: “Book It!” in huge letters? After you had read so many books, you’d get a sticker to put on your button. After you racked up so many stickers, you could get your own personal pan pizza from Pizza Hut for FREE! Well guess what, 80’s and 90’s kids? Book It is back!

Book It

Book It is celebrating its 30th birthday (hey—that means Book It and I were born in the same year!) and is inviting all of its alums to sign up for the program again! I’ve signed up! Now you need to too!

Ever feel like this in the mornings?

A recent study in Great Britain showed that 33% of the nation felt at their absolute worst before 9:00 a.m. The study also found that 49% of Britons can go an entire week without ever receiving a compliment from someone! Well, IKEA was NOT going to let one of their favorite countries suffer an ego-blow like that! They recently placed a “Motivational Mirror” in one of their stores. The mirror dishes out compliments to shoppers from, “Your dress is amazing!” to “I love what you’ve done with your hair!” The reactions were priceless:

I’d like to have one of those for my house!

Halloween is 21 days away! Have you picked out your costume yet? I’m done with mine and *almost* done with Huff the Babe’s. If you’re not the crafty type, but still want to go as something original, check out this awesome light-up Tardis head-band from Think Geek:

You can toss this on your dome, buy this dress from Hot Topic, and BAM! Instant Tardis, instant costume, instant AWESOMENESS.

When I was a kid, we went to Disney World. I remember stopping in one of the areas of DW called “Tomorrowland”. Back in ’89, it looked a little something like this:

So when I heard there was a movie coming out based on that part of Disney World, I was a little skeptical. Until I saw the trailer. Now? I REALLY want to see it! Check it out for yourself!

Fan Girl Friday

Happy Friday, peeps!

I’ve got some geek-tacular schtuff to get your weekend kicked off right!

Its the end of the workweek. You’re probably uber-excited to say “sayonara!” to the office or maybe its been a stressful week and you’d rather just give the office The Bird. If this describes you, I’ve got JUST the thing!

punching bag

Its a desktop punching bag! Its suctions to your desktop so after those annoying meetings (in which nothing gets done) you can take out your aggression on this!

Remember a few months ago when I tried the TARDIS simulator online and it was a total bust? Guess what? I found one that actually works! And its awesome!

Just click this link, then mouse over to the TARDIS and click the “X”! You won’t be sorry!

Its getting super close to fall, which means its time to stay in, cozy up, and bake some awesome treats! And what better way to enjoy sweet baked goody than with this amazingly nostalgic Mario mushroom pan?!

Level up with sweetness!

Level up with sweetness!

And the best part? Its less than $10! Those peeps over at Think Geek just get even more awesome!

The other day, I went to visit my niece and nephews. They were so excited about something their mom had bought them. They ran up to me and said, “Aunt Jessie! LOOK!” and held up one of these:

Isn’t that awesome?! Its called Snackeez. Its a reusable cup with a snack cup built in! I’m seriously geeking out over this! I want one SO bad! It’ll totally revolutionize road trips!

Try It Tuesday

Happy Tuesday, folks!

While looking around on Pinterest (mostly on Doctor Who-themed boards) I found an awesome pin! Apparently, you go to this website and you’re in the Tardis’ control room! You can click different areas and it will “teleport” you to a random place.

tardis teleporter

So I went to the website and was a little disappointed. I mean, the views were amazing, don’t get me wrong.

But, when I first went to the site, there was no Tardis control room (super sad about that!). And, honestly, its like a glorified Google Maps. So, double sad. But, like I said, it was nice to get to see some of the pretty views!

Recently, Huff the Hubs has really been into playing video games on my old NES. Last Friday he spent about two hours trying to beat Super Mario Brothers. While on Pinterest, I saw this and did a nerd girl squeal:

THIS website did NOT disappoint! There were tons and tons of video games! I chose a game that I never played as a kid but always wanted to:

I was actually pretty cool! And really got me all nostalgic. I mean, check out those awesome 90’s graphics:

I think I’ve found my new procrastination website. Look out, Pinterest, another site’s gunning for your crown!

Ermagherd! Erts Verlentine’s Der!

Got something special planned for your someone special?

Huff the Hubs and I are playin’ it low-key this year. He’s cooking me dinner and then we’re going to play the board game I got him! I know; we’re livin’ the life, right?

What are you up to? Got plans? Oh yes, you do. You’re going to plop in front of your computer and check out the awesome things I found for you for this week’s Fan Girl Friday!

Did you know that George Lucas and Mark Hamill have a contest going to where you can win a trip for two to Skywalker Ranch in California, complete with meet and greet with GL?! AND, you’ll get to hang with Luke Skywalker himself! All you’ve got to do is enter to win! Here’s Mark Hamill to tell you more!

This year for Huff the Hubs’ birthday, he said he wanted an RC helicopter. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find any in time. I’m thinking I may have to get this for him for Christmas:

Doctor not included.

Doctor not included.

Its your own flying TARDIS! It stands 3″ tall and has a vertical takeoff and landing. But you have to provide the sound effects (vrompf, wrompf!).

Speaking of the TARDIS, did you know that there is a cafe in Istanbul dedicated solely to The Doctor? No joke! Its called The TARDIS Cafe!

"I'll have the fish fingers and custard."

“I’ll have the fish fingers and custard.”

I’m starting to wish I would’ve seen this next find about a week ago. That way, I could’ve told HtH to snag me one for Valentine’s Day! What better way to show your nerd-girl some love than with this adorable Star Wars pajama shirt?

Our love is intergalactic.

I hope your Valentine’s Day is awesome! Show people some love…

Fan Girl Friday

Happy Friday, nerdlings!

We’ve made it through another week and its time to fangirl it up!

I’ve found some great things from my favorite sites, but I’ve also uncovered some AWESOME new places to get your geek on!

“When’s the costume parade?”

“There isn’t one.”

“This party is just going to suck.”

“You’re a choo choo train?”

“You’re a choo choo train?”

Don’t worry, friend, you’ll be able to win any and every costume contest this Halloween (if the judges are a bunch of nuon -lovin’ physicists) with Sheldon Cooper’s Doppler Effect costume!

My ten-year reunion was just a few weeks ago, and as much as I loved my high school experience, I can’t help but wish I went to another school. One with more magic and moving staircases. Plus, I’d be able to wear this great tee from ThinkGeek with pride!

Hogwarts, Hogwarts, hoggy, hoggy, warts, warts, teach us something please!

Hogwarts, Hogwarts, hoggy, hoggy, warts, warts, teach us something please!

Huff the Hubs and I went un-traditional when it came to Hermione’s nursery. And seeing as how we’re hoping to raise a genius, we’ll need to save our pennies to send her to college so she can support us in our old age. This bank, in my opinion, would be the best way to store our funds:

"I expect to be well paid. I'm in it for the money."

“I expect to be well paid. I’m in it for the money.”

Speaking of our spawn, whilst searching Pinterest, I found the CUTEST website for nerdbabies! Its called Geek-A-Bye-Baby and it is FULL of fandom for your family! Check out this custom-made Firefly bedding!

"I aim to misbehave."

“I aim to misbehave.”

There’s also stuff for Mommies and Daddies! I saw a TARDIS lovey… I think Hermione is going to get one for Christmas!

Before I bid adieu for the weekend, just in case you didn’t know…

Katniss is excited.

Fan Girl Friday

Did you hear the news, people?!

You didn’t?! Okay, so, get this: remember how I told you a while back that Matt Smith is leaving after the Christmas Special? Well, BBC1 released a statement earlier this week, saying that the new Doctor will be revealed THIS Sunday! I haven’t been this excited about an announcement from Britain since Kate Middleton went into labor!

In honor of the newest Doctor’s unveiling this weekend, today’s’ Fan Girl Friday is all about the Mad Man with the Blue Box!

Whilst wasting time on Pinterest when I should’ve been sleeping, I found an awesome sight that has the top 10 pieces of furniture inspired by the Tardis! I really want the outdoor shed! (But I need a backyard first!)

Its cozier on in the inside.

Its cozier on in the inside.

I’m LOVING this tee from Think Geek! Its not overly Whovian, which is great because if you wore it out and about, you’d be able to tell a true fan from a layman. And, as we all know, nothing equates instant friendship like some random person coming up to you at WalMart and saying: “Allonsy!”

"I'm the Doctor."; "Doctor who?"'; "Precisely."

“I’m the Doctor.”; “Doctor who?”‘; “Precisely.”

Not a Whovian? Have a friend who hasn’t experienced the pure joy/sadness/fear/excitement of the Who-verse? Need some help converting them? No need to fear! I came across a great article that lists 5 episodes that will turn any Who-skeptic into a Whovian! (No pamphlets or bicycles required!) The list is actually pretty good, but I think I would add Don’t Blink. That episode scared me into loving DW.

"I'm the Doctor, and I just snogged Madame de Pompudor!"

“I’m the Doctor, and I just snogged Madame de Pompudor!”

Sidebar: The very first episode of Doctor Who I ever watched was The Girl in the Fireplace. Pretty much one of the greatest episodes EVER and it really makes you love Ten with both hearts.

Are you excited about the big announcement? Do you have any suggestions for the new Doctor? Not going to lie, I hope its not a girl and I hope he’s ginger. He’s been waiting SO long to be ginger! Rupert Grint, you’re not doing anything, right? Why don’t you lace up the Converse and hop in the Tardis?
