Fan Girl Friday

Happy Friday, everyone!

I have got some squeal-worthy stuff for you today! Let’s just say that today, The Huffman Post has more trailers than a redneck family reunion!

Since Comic Con was last week, all of the trailers we’ve been waiting for have finally arrived! *Cue the Kermit arm flail* “YAYYYY!!!”

First up, its The Hobbit: The Battle of Five Armies (with a sweet serenade from Pippin!)

Get your battle face on, people. This next trailer is going to make you want to start a revolution! (Click the link; I couldn’t find the trailer on YouTube. Womp, womp.)

October can NOT get here fast enough!!

I haven’t forgotten the Littles!

Fan Girl Friday

Iiiiits Friday!

I’ve spent the majority of the day carbing up for my marathon on Sunday. And let me tell ya…eating is F-U-N! I think I’m going to list it as one of my favorite hobbies on Facebook after today.

I’ve got gobs of geekery to share with you so let’s dive right in!

First, man-oh-man is there a plethora of movie news out about some highly-anticipated films!

We all know Henry Cavill is Superman and Ben Affleck with be donning the cowl in Zac Snyder’s Superman vs. Batman but it looks as though there’s a third party being thrown into the ring! That would be Cyborg–a character first introduced in the comic book back in 1980–who, after a tragic accident, becomes a mechanized superhero! Fun fact: the actor playing Cyborg has also been rumored to be in the next installment of the Star Wars films!

Where my 80’s girls at? get ready to squeal with joy, because  Jem and the Holograms are reuniting! EEEEEEEE! That’s right people, our favorite Hubba Bubba-hued rockstar is making it to the big screen with a live-action movie titled–what else?–Jem and the Holograms!

If the leading lady looks familiar, its probably because you’ve seen her in such gems (pun TOTES intended) as Sharknado and Ace Venture, Pet Detective Jr. Yes. You read that right.

I am counting down the days until the final Hobbit movie makes its debut. However, I may have to re-do the screen print t-shirts I’ve made because P.J. (AKA, Peter Jackson) has decided to change the title from The Hobbit: There and Back Again, to The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies. Yeah. I’m serious.

There’s been a tiny, Daryl-Dixon-shaped hole left in my heart since the season finale of The Walking Dead. And its going to be AT LEAST 6 months until I get to see my favorite crossbow-wielding bad boy crack some zombie skulls. But maybe I can find solace with one of these, and snuggle up to it every night while singing Soft Kitty…

Claimed.

Claimed.

As I’ve said (about a gazillion times) I’m running a marathon this Sunday! My first (and ONLY) marathon. I’ve got everything I need: GU, running shoes, trashbag poncho in case it rains, but I’m missing something else. What am I missing? Earbuds shaped like my spirit animal: Grumpy Cat. Thankfully, Hot Topic is there for me in my hour of need:

I hate running.

I hate running.

Have a great weekend, peeps! And keep your fingers crossed the marathon isn’t a washout!

Geek Gift-Giving Guide

Happy Friday, folks!

Typically I do a Fan Girl Friday on the last day of the week, but since Christmas is in a mere 12 days, I thought I’d do ya a solid and help you figure out what to get the geek on your list!

Typically, those involved in fandoms aren’t that difficult to buy for. Basically anything that remotely looks like a Tardis or the battlestar known as Gallactica will tickle any fan girl or boys fancy. But, if you’re unsure of what items go to which fandom, why, I’m here to assist!

For the Whovian on your list:

Celebrate! Celebrate! (In style!)

For when they watch "Blink" at night...

For the Tribute:

For the Tolkien:

You shall not pass...up this awesome gift!

For the Batfan (wordplay!):

For the Khaleesi:

Poached, scrambled, or fried?

And even if your Secret Santa isn’t a nerd, I’ve got other gifts too!

For the one with too much energy:

Work off some of that egg nog!

For the one who—how do I say this nicely—frequents Taco Bell?

Put an end to stink!

For the manly man:

Hello, fellow nerldings!

Its been far too long since we’ve come together to celebrate all things geeky! Since I’ve been on maternity leave, I’ve been pinning like CRAZY on Pinterest and perusing the interwebs for nerdy finds. So let’s jump right in!

You can let your geek flag fly with this United Federation of Planets Flag!

If you need help remembering which order the flags go, just reference an episode of Sheldon Cooper Presents: Fun with Flags.

Live long and prosper.

Hobbit Day was a few weeks ago; how did you celebrate? Did you make it to the Shire? I didn’t. Mostly because I was waist-deep in diapers. Plus, I probably would’ve gotten lost and ended up at the Black Gates. But what luck! With these maps of the Tolkien universe, you’ll never make a wrong turn again!

"Life is much more than your maps and books..."

“Life is much more than your maps and books…”

I’m sure by now you’ve all seen the cringe-worthy VMA performance of “Blurred Lines” by Robin Thicke and Miley Cyrus. And you’ve probably seen the spoofs as well. But my favorite? This one! Ladies and gentlemen, I give you Time Lines.

Since I’ve been on maternity leave, I have finally found the greatness that is Netflix. I’ve been watching a lot of My Fair Wedding with David TuteraIts an awesome show that gives brides their dream wedding. I would LOVE to see the girl that received this ring on that show! (Click the link to read about the epic proposal!)

A ring to rule the galaxies.

Until next week, folks!

Fan Girl Thursday

Happy Thursday, fan peeps!

I’ve got something planned for tomorrow, so you’re getting your weekly does of fandom a little early! And OMG, I’ve got TONS to share with you!

Think Geek is going to be getting A LOT of money from me very soon. Check out this Weeble-inspired mug! It suctions to the table (or wherever you place it), it weebles, it wobbles, but it won’t fall down (or spill!).

Finally, a mug that can hold up to the likes of Messy Jessie.

Are you a total film geek? Then TG has the lounge-gear for you! Look at these adorable movie-inspired pillows:

Just don't eat them!

I cannot wait for my little Hermione to get here. I’ll teach her so many things: the art of sarcasm, the proper way to deliver one-liners, and oh yes…the awesomeness that is Grumpy Cat:

Grumpy Baby.

Grumpy Baby.

Bless me hobbit feet! Have you seen the new trailer for The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug?! I literally squealed out loud and hopped around like a dwarf that just found the Arkenstone.

And speaking of The Hobbit, check out this awesome hobbit-themed party I saw on Epbot:

No admittance. Except on party business.

Fan Girl Thursday

Hey guys! I’m changing it up a bit this week. I have something special planned for tomorrow, so I decided to move the Fan Girl awesomeness to Thursday! Woot woot!

Let’s dive right in, shall we?

So, many of you know I’m a huge Walking Dead fan. When I saw this shirt I immediately reached for my credit card, which immediately slapped my hand and told me I’m not allowed to buy any more t-shirts. Sigh. But look how awesome it is! It reminds me of the dinosaur shirts they have on ThinkGeek!

I hear his crops are really coming along this season.

And speaking of TG, check out these super MARVEL-OUS (see what I did there?) socks!

Not sure if I'm Captain America or a Greek God.

This week marked the release of the first Hobbit movie! Did you get your copy, precious? I did! Sadly, it was not the special limited edition with the Bilbo Baggins Lego mini-figure. But, thanks to the people at Lego, I can look at pictures of the entire cast posing with their mini-figs!

"I'm even sexy as a child's toy."

“I’m even sexy as a child’s toy.”

"Look at that! A Hobbit-sized Hobbit!"

“Look at that! A Hobbit-sized Hobbit!”

Do you remember a few months ago when I blogged about the guy that takes TV/movie/video game songs and makes them metal? Well, that winking troubadour has done it again! Look what he’s done with Doctor Who!

Fan Girl Friday

So much has happened this week in the world of pop culture. Jessica Simpson got knocked up again, Lindsay Lohan got knocked out, and people everywhere are growing pointy ears. (<– That was my segue into talking about The Hobbit. Awesome, right?)

Yes, in a mere two weeks, Bilbo, Gandalf, and a crap-load of dwarves with rhyming names will FINALLY hit the big screen to tell their tale! I. CANNOT. WAIT. I’m reading the book right now and I really like it! Not as much, I gather, as the folks in New Zealand. They went all out for the red carpet premiere of The Hobbit.

They even had the local weatherman dress up like an elf and read the weather report in Elvish!

Now, put your Elvish dictionary away and grab your Klingon translator. This week, the cast of Star Trek: The Next Generation reunited to celebrate their 25th anniversary. Cute-as-a-button Will Wheaton was there too! Click the link to watch the video! I love it when the cast starts to tease Patrick Stewart!

Have you gotten bit by the Christmas Spirit? Its been hard for me to, mostly because its been so warm here in Oklahoma! (70 is NOT December weather, folks. I needs my snow!)

A man in Austin, TX has apparently gotten into the spirit with STYLE:

“Heeeey! Sexy Santa!”

This reminds me a lot of the Thriller house!
